This week we celebrated the life of my hubby's last living aunt and placed her in the Lord's care. His Auntie was a twin and I posted about the other sister on 8/25/2009. If you would like to go back and read the post I am sure you would enjoy reading about what feisty women they were and always a lady.
When Auntie M turned 98 on February 5 th of this year we asked her why she thought she lived so long. She told us, "You have to eat healthy, live it up everyday of your life, and eat strawberries and ice cream every night before you go to bed." Not bad advice do you think?
She left us on Valentine's Day with a world full of loving memories.
I think for my hubby and his three cousins it was quite a stark realization that now they are the oldest generation.
L to R: my hubby, cousin A, cousin J, and cousin B.
My husband is the only one who has any siblings. The other three cousins were all only children.
So we are left with our memories of yesterday and our dreams for tomorrow. So hope you all eat healthy, live it up as if every day was your last, and always, always have strawberries and ice cream before you go to bed. Cause I think Auntie knew best!

I love her advice!!!
And love that she must have really enjoyed her life, while she was here. Can't do better than that. :-)
Wow, she looks great for being around that long...
It's sad when we lose someone like that, but then I just think of them off on another adventure. Sounds like she'll be having another fun one, Ice Cream included!
Hug 'em while ya can...

What sweet memories you all have of these two amazing women. It's rather fitting that Auntie M, who ate strawberries with her ice cream every night, left this world on Valentine's Day.
Warm hugs.

Auntie's advice sounds really good to me. I'm sure she'll be very happy in her new life. By the way, did you notice the orb floating in front of your hubby's leg? It's probably Auntie's spirit joining in on the fun....
I am so sorry to hear about Auntie
leaving this earth. She will have lots of ice cream and strawberries in Heaven. I need to start eating like that. She sounds like a hoot!
Thanks for stopping over at my blog. You blog looks wonderful and I think I am going to follow you.
I love to make new friends.
May the ladies enjoy sitting with Jesus! Sorry for your loss, but what a wonderful day to go home ... the day of love & hearts.
I can live with the ice cream & strawberries ... sounds like great advice!
Have a beautiful weekend.
Hugs, Marydon
Hello, dear Stella,
What a lovely, lovely post! I think auntie gave very good advice! She obviously loved life and enjoyed each day! You can't go wrong with that! Thank you for sharing this lovely tribute to a wonderful lady, and thank you for coming by Bunny Cottage for a visit! I hope you have a fun-filled weekend full of laughter! Vicki
Stella, what a gorgeous family - especially that tall woman with the gray hair, just beautiful! Thank you for dropping by my blog this evening and to let you know that those shoes are a pattern that is available at shabbyfabrics.com She has some wonderful patterns available that you just do NOT find anywhere else. I think you'll enjoy looking at her website. Not a blog, just website.
xoxo,
Connie
Well, it's hard to know what to say - I'm so glad that she is in Heaven with the rest of her family, but the loss of a loved one is always hard. Seems like you have a lot of sweet sweet memories of her.
God Bless,
Sandie

I think Auntie M made a good point - eat healthy! I like the "eat ice cream and strawberries every night!" LOL!
You asked about my cake plate with the dangling crystals, no I didn't make it, wish I could make them and sell them, everybody wants one!! I'm wondering If you could cut a circle of mesh and sew dangling crystals onto it, then place it on top of the cake plate.
Thanks for your comments on my cloche post!
Katherine
