Fall Drive

It was a beautiful day as I drove to the lake last week for my appointment with my Dr. It was in the low 70's and a lovely sunshiny day. Just perfect for rolling down the windows and opening the lid on my car.

Beautiful wildflowers were in bloom along the roadside. I think these are Black Eyed Susans. They stretched for miles on both sides of the road.

The sky was an unbelievable shade of blue with hardly a cloud in sight.

These pumpkins, gourds, and squash were heaped beside the roadside but no for sale sign on them. I pulled into the driveway hoping someone would appear so I could buy a few.

On the other side of the road was this handsome fellow. I bet he was hoping if he put in an early appearance we would forget about him by Thanksgiving.

Fall, my favorite time of year here in the mid west. Sunny days, cool nights and all the colors of Autumn.

It certainly looks like they were ready to sell. Maybe they were at lunch? That is quite a turkey!

I wonder if those pumpkins and squashes were just there for the taking? Without a For Sale sign, I would think they might be. So did you help yourself?
Lovely autumnal pictures.
Blessings from one Stella to another.

What beautiful scenes of autumn, Stella! I just love this season, with the cool, crisp air & bright blue skies.

I'm sorry to read about your fall but thrilled to read that you were surrounded by such loving friends & family.

I slipped off a sailboat once & fell between it & the dock. Oh my word...I hurt from head to toe for weeks, so I feel for ya', Honey!

I guess no one came out to sell them - they looked in good shape. Hope all was well at the doctor. I love fall too - it is so refreshing. sandie

Thanks for sharing the beautiful drive Stella. Questions though, I have questions. Did you get to buy something at the stand? Some of the small ones we see have honor money boxes.

I hope/assume the news from the Dr was good.

I love Black-eyed Susans. Almost as much as I love Daisies and Sunflowers. It looks like you had a lovely ride. Did you get to buy any of the pumpkins? I'm waiting to see when they're going to start selling them down here. I want to buy a couple of them to decorate my front porch for Thanksgiving. Right now I have my Halloween stuff out, but I don't want to over do the decor. As soon as Halloween is over I will put on the Thanksgiving/Fall stuff.

What a great idea to make a turkey out of the hay bale. Love the Halloween cookies also.
