Playing With Jars

Just after Christmas I bought a jar at TJ Maxx on clearance.  I guess you would call it a jar.  It's glass and has a lid.  I wanted something for my buffet I could decorate but was easy to move out of the way when I had company and wanted to use it for drinks or dessert.

For February I put a snowman sitting on a wine glass and some of my favorite napkin rings in the jar.

I left the buffet fairly simple so it was still easy to use.

Today I started decorating it for Valentine's Day.  But I just can't seem to come up with much to put in it.  I was thinking perhaps some pieces of lace.  If I had thought of it ahead of time I would have looked for some old sheet music with a love theme.  Any of you have any other idea?  I need to finish my jar because it's almost Valentine's Day.

I'm afraid I haven't got any ideas, but, to be honest, I think it looks really cute just the way it is! Less if more. Simple, but very effective.

Hi Stella...thank you for stopping by and I'm glad you like the mailbox. It's an old thing and I keep changing the color.
I cannot and I mean to tell you I have looked everywhere, I just cannot find my Valentine things.
I am SO upset and it is getting later and later.
All I found was a box with a bit of garland in it and some hearts...so that is all I have up.

I have lots of things...it's kind of difficult to believe that I could "mislay" so much..and I have a fair collection!
I may have gotten stuck in some overhead corner when we moved so much around during construction, both inside and out!
So..you are NOT alone...it's mighty sparce her too! :)

At the stores they have this crinkled wrapping paper cut up to fill a gift bad. They come in all colors but there is a cellophane color and when you put it in the vase it looks like shiney water - then you could put your red hearts or some cany in it.

? I am not too talented, but it is pretty.

I like it just as it is Stella but I like Sandie's idea of the cellophane paper...you can buy it shredded and it would look nice sitting in the bottom with your hearts on top.

Hi Stella,
Happy valentine's Day ! You most probably have that jar already filled now. You can find sheet music online. The Graphics's Fairy is a good that to find printables . A jar or cloche looks good with just one item or a few. I sometimes fill them completely with one kind of thing . Your display is very pretty.

I could see conversation hearts in the jar but I guess it's a little late to give my opinion. You get to decorate for a new holiday now!
