This is the table beside my favorite chair. As you can see I read here, several books at a time, at the present time I am also tying a quilt, and I have to have my pencils for my crossword puzzles. Several pairs of reading glasses as I can never find mine and I can't read or thread a needle without them. Sometime I get it all tidy and clean and it feels sooo good. But, I just tidy, I don't put away as all the things on this table add pleasure to my life even if it is messy.
Life seems to be much like my table. Just when you think things are going well and seem to be in order you find instead you have a welter of circumstances that require you to look at what is important in life.
I found out this week that my husband no longer has a job as his company lost a contract, my mother's cancer has spread to her bones and there is not much more they can do for her, and my favorite uncle is now under hospice care. I debated whether to share all of this with you but decided you all are an important part of my life so I feel safe giving you space on my messy table. So I am going to take my little ruler and measure out all the good things in my life and give thanks for all love that surrounds me even if it gets messy sometimes.
I am going to tie up and cherish all the precious memories of my mother and uncle and put them away for safe keeping. And rest assured that the Lord has his reading glasses on and has only good plans for my life.

I am so sorry to hear that your husband has lost his job. That must be a real worry for you, especially at this time when you have enough to think about with your poor mum being so poorly. Then, also, your favourite uncle being in hospice care. Gosh, it never rains but it pours. You're so right, all these things sure do put things into perspective. My thoughts and blessings are with you. Take care.
This has me in tears. ((HUGS)) I am so sorry to hear about your husbands job. My heart is also heavy with the news on your mother.
Praying that she is not in pain. The news of your uncle is also very sad. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
Never be afraid to share the messy stuff, we are here for you.
Oh my goodness - that is a lot of pain and suffering on your plate girlfriend. I am so glad you shared it. We can pray for you and be there for you. I am sorry about your husband's job loss. And your poor mother - I know how much you wish you could fix her and your uncle too.
And other things too.
At times like this I don't have an answer - the only thing I can tell you is to:
TRUST GOD.
sandie with lots of love.
You have a lot to cope with on your 'messy' table Stella, but as you say, you will only be given as much as you can cope with at one time. I'm glad you decided to share these thoughts with us. We are all on your side. We are your blogging friends and we all have shoulders to lean on and spare hankies in our pockets!
Star x
Stella I am so sorry for everything, but I thank you for sharing and will keep in mind your wondeful metaphor for life.
Before I got to the real part of the post and was just admiring the lovely clutter on your table I was going to share a favorite saying which is: "A home without clutter is only a house." I guess actually that saying too can extend as a metaphor for life. Real life is untidy! And we wouldn't have the joy without the sorrows.
That all being said, you have a lot going on right now and my thoughts are with you and your loved ones. Do keep us posted whenever you feel like it.
