Pretty Please. HELP!

I need some advice and help in blogging. I can't figure out how to link or how to post buttons on my sidebar. I would like to participate in more but am limited by lack of knowledge. Is there a book or a place to look for information? How did the rest of you learn how to do these thing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've learned a lot through fellow bloggers that took the time to tell me.

To creat a link in your post...say you wanted to link Such & Such blogger...type out the blog name in your post...click on and hi-light just that name...then go up to the bar of your post...you will see a little hoot owl...click on that...and fill in the blog url.

For the buttons...for an experiment...just pick one you like here and then you can either hit upload and save it and later load it in as a Picture widget, or you can pick up their html code beneath the picture...outline entire code at bottom and hit copy...bring it to your html widget box and click on it and hit paste. Hit save...you can then arrange all of your side bar boxes by clicking on each one and moving them around...always hit save when you are finished though or it will not take.

PS...for a different experiment...you may go to my side bar and my Kindred Spirit award has html below it...you can add it to an Html widget and voila...you are now a Kindred Spirit ;D

I've been wanting to tell you too...that if you would want to, you can shrink your header picture to fit...just click the box that says shrink to fit and reload the picture.

Also if you wanted to fancy it up with new backgrounds...Cutest Blog on the Block has lots...they provide a html code that just like in the graphics you click on copy and past into a html box on your side bar and instant blog decor...

I hope this helps!☺

'K, girlfriend...I'm more than ready to help you out...don't worry, I've done this before for others.

I think this background and header would be fabulous for your blog!

I've put in a email request for the html code for the background. Are you just set on your header picture, or would you like the header that goes with it?

If you would like me to help dress you up, just email me your username and password...I always destroy these when I'm finished, but I do encourage bloggers to create new ones when I'm finished playing.

Don't worry...I l♥ve doing it...and it is entirely free of charge...it is so much fun for me!

If you have something else in mind, just let me know and we'll work with it.

I can't design worth a hoot, but I can help others pretty things up with what I do know!

No offense taken if you don't want to either. It's all good sweetie!♥

Copy and paste a button into your picture file. Then go to your blog layout and click 'add gadget.' Click add picture then it will automatically take you to your picture file. Add the button. But be sure to click all the save buttons. I hope this helped.

Stella..we help one another. I am also struggling and have been helped over and over again. Right now I am attempting to be able to post the larger photo's and I guess there are several ways. Today has been dedicated to learning...and...a wonderful fellow blogger is assisting me.
She told me that she was helped..and is passing her knowledge along. Is that wonderful?
With my limited and newly found ability I am also helping those that need it. I see that you already have help.
I had to print out the instructions that were given to me. Otherwise I could not remember each step.
I hope you have an email address that others can email the instructions to you so that you may print them..
I have a short memory and don't pick things up quickly...or at least not as quickly as I would like. Good luck to you...and any one of us are always here...including myself!
:) Sending you hugs and encouragement as you go on your way.
Soon you will be jumping in and helping others!

To link a picture:
1. Go to the site you want to save their badge or picture. With the cursor on the picture, click the right button on your mouse. Of of the choices is "Save Picture As" Click that and save it to your My Pictures folder. You may want to create a new folder within in that one called Blog Icons. Save.
2. Go to your dashboard. Click Layout. Click "Add a Gadget. Scroll down to Picture. Click the big plus over on the right side. Click the browse button. Highlight the picture you saved in step 1. Click Open. In the box titleyou can name it. To create a hyperlnk, go back to that persons blog and click the main title of their blog. Copy the http address. Back on your dashboard, paste that address in the link line. This is optional. You can have the picture without the link.
3. To create a link in your post on the words along, highlight words you want to link. usually the name of their blog, or the name of their meme, or the word "here". Click on the link icon, copy and paste their http address on the line. I usually like to give it another color, bold it, or make it larger. That way people know it's the link.

You can even go back at a later date and add edit the picture to add the link. I hope this helps.
