First Snow

When I arose this morning at 5:30 a.m. and looked out the window I had a wonderful gift. We had our first snow of the season. It was suppose to stay far north of us but what does the weather man know anyway.

As I have gotten older I try to make a point of enjoying the small things life sends my way. This morning the view from my living room window was truly breathtaking as fluffy white snow flakes drifted down to cover a rose bush completely covered in red roses. The picture does not do the scene justice but I wanted to share with you anyway.

I know my Blue Heron was thinking he should have given up his lifeguard duties at least a month ago and gone south for the winter.

So let's ring in a new season with joy and thanksgiving for the small moments . I hope your week is filled with delightful small moments.

Hi Stella, thank you so much for the nice wish, and yes nothing better when one gets older than enjoy simple things and moments in life.

So it is snowing in Kansas City. It looked like a fairy land. How wonderful it is that you are deliberately trying to look for the blessings in the things sent to you. I think some of us get like that as we age - we mellow and chill and others never do.

Nice pictures and great reminder about blooming where you're planted -- enjoying the beauty wherever you are. (I need those reminders right now!)

Love the snow! If it snows here, it's a national news event!

Luv the snow on the wings of your blue heron. I'm looking forward to snow but maybe not until Christmas Eve. Then let it snow all of January and February. Keep on enjoying the small things. That's what I do, too.

HI!!!!
Oh those pics were awesome!!! I live in sunny AZ, to see snow we travel up to Flagstaff about 2-3 hours away!!! We do that at least 1 or 2 times per year, just to see the white stuff!!! I love it!!! It is cold though!!!!
So glad we stop to enjoy these simple things!!!

HI!!!
It's me again!!!
I wanted to answer your question on my blog about the new word for 09, unfriend, yes I think it is not nic to remove someone who you might be mad at, as well know fights are most of the time, temporary. Like my sis-in-law, she was always complaining her 3 year old grand daughter was growing up far to fast, and she mentioned that she loved to watch HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL and I told her to take that movie away from a 3 year old and her and her daughter got so mad they do not talk to me anymore and deleted me from their blog and their life. I tried apologizing to no avail. I am not sorry for those meaningful words of wisdom, just sorry they took it the wrong way!!! They say I need to stay out of their business!!! So for them to unfriend me is rude!!!!It is ok to unfriend some one on your blog you never talk to anymore or that person does not comment on your blog ever, we all find blogs that fit our lifestyles better and hit it off with different people so for that reason I say it's ok!!!!
thanks for writing
hugs,
jamie

Hi Stella! Oh, how lovely. I hope the snow is still there. We just don't get any snow here but we used to live in New Mexico and oh, it was lovely!
I would love to see your silverware. I just got on line and went to town looking at patterns till I found which one it was.
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
