Soup

Is there anything better than a pot of homemade  broccoli/cheese soup and homemade bread for lunch when the weather is bitter cold?

We are expecting between 10-12 inches of snow tonight and have freezing rain at the present time.  I have been to grocery store and have the fire roaring so I think I am ready for whatever is coming.  I just keep telling myself.  We are one day closer to spring.

Hope all of you are tucked it nice and warm.

I can't remember whether I mentioned this before, but I do love the photo of that old statue at the top of your Blog, complete with snow. It is very atmospheric! Yes, that soup does look tasty, and I love that combination of broccoli and cheese. Gosh 10 - 12 inches of snow - that's quite a lot! I'm glad you all prepared, so keep warm. That's what I keep saying, January is almost over and we're one day closer to spring!

Yummy in my tummy! Even if I don't have any cold weather, I still make soup once in a while and we love it. I'd kind of forgotten about broccoli soup so thanks for the reminder . Yours looks really good

Stella, I've been away from your blog for far too long. Nice that I returned in time for that delish-looking soup.

I know that you were through a lot last year with flooding and a fire. Wishing you and your family all good things in 2011.

Oh my gosh your soup looks wonderful also.. Mine is simmering and smelling wonderful.. I think Tom has taken these warnings at heart... I hear him out firing up the generator to make sure it is running well in case we need it... It is always better to be prepared than sorry you weren't... Stay warm and safe my friend....

It sounds good to me. I make a lot of soup but haven't made bread in a while.
