I Am Happy To Announce

I am happy to announce the Lenten Dinner was a great success. They licked all the platters clean. We served every last scrap of food. I think we served closer to 80 than the 60 I originally planned to serve. Next time I definitely need to make twice as much cornbread. I used honey and buttermilk to make it and it was the hit of the party.

The purple daisies on the table are the ones I used to decorate the tables the night of the dinner. I also put bowls of jelly beans on the table. Looked quite festive with the white table covers. I meant to take photos but got so busy serving I forgot.
Have a good weekend friends.

Ok Stella, I missed something somewhere...It's not everyday someone cooks for that many people! You'll have to come tell me what it was all about. Cute table by the way and the food looked yummy!

That was a beautiful table setting. You doing that all alone is just amazing to me. Well I know it was appreciated and that it was enjoyed and I still think it was a wonderful thing to do.

And yes to make life simplier - you were so cute - of course - consolidate! lol

Hi again,
Saw your comment and had to come back to ask who or what is the Lenten Dinner for? I did read the last post but other than knowing it's at church, I still have an inquiring mind that want's to know!

Those bunnies are so cute...and you are brave to feed so many. Our family does it..but I no longer do the cooking...just the deviled eggs, baked beans and candied sweet potatoes when we have them...
I do not miss it! :) It was lots of work and I think you are wonderful for doing it.
Love and hugs,
Mona

Oh, you're just so smart! I had never thought about slippling a bowl in the ice bucket! :)
Be a sweetie,

Great job! So glad it went well -- now I want to go make some cornbread (it's midnight and I'm not even hungry, but still.....)
