Summer Lull

As I walked through the garden this morning I noticed I no longer have bursts of color that grab your attention. Instead I just have a little color here and there that peeks out of all the green foliage. I think I am like many gardeners. I run to the garden center in spring and early summer and buy what is blooming. By July I am no longer enamored of buying or planting so I end up with spring blooming plants. Maybe this calls for a trip to the greenhouse.
The Stella de Oro (Star of Gold) Lily's are almost done but I noticed how they picked up the color of the yellow butterfly.

Of course orange always announces its presence and it was charming against the brick wall

Lantana is such a trooper. It never wilts or fades in the hot sun and comes in so many colors it fits any color scheme.

Most of my roses have finished the first bloom and have been cut back. But this pink knockout is still putting on a show. Mostly for the neighbors as she is in partial shade and it is sunny on the other side of the fence.

Wish I had kept the plastic tag for this daisy. It blooms heavily and has short stems so it never flops. Does anyone know what variety it might be?

One of the greatest pleasures I find in gardening is the blending of colors and textures as flowers bloom. This pink rose, white lily, and blue geranium caught my eye today.

Thanks for walking in the garden with me.
Stella

Hi Stella
Thanks for stopping by my blog. The white daisy you don't know the name of we call shasta daisies, chrysanthemum maximum. They are so hardy you can dig them up cut them into pieces with a shovel and replant and it will grow everywhere.

Hello. Here I am stopping by. I love the colors combined in the last photo...the pinks, whites, and blues. I was noticing the same thing about my garden just yesterday...mostly green with little hints of color.

I came upon your blog through Beach Vintage to see your bathroom 'rug', you did a great job, I love river rocks!
And we have a red bedroom too (well, probably more towards burgundy, but the paper was titled 'red', it's a Ralph Lauren floral print, and I love it! It's dark and I think it's wonderful for a bedroom)!

Nice blog!

The big yellow butterfly in your garden is very nice and looks lovely with your Stellas. And I agree with you about the lantana. They just never complain, do they?

Hi Stella, It is so nice to meet you, thank you so much for stopping by. Your header is BEauTiful! what a lovely garden you have. Where I lived there is not much of a garden because I rent, but I do however try to get things free and plant as I go along. This hasn't been a good year for me, so hopefully next year will be better. Where I used to live thats all I did was plant, plant, plant and my garden was becoming a paradise. Well I do hope you have a great day today.

Take Care-
